The North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS) Distinguished Advanced Practitioner Provider/Allied Health Professional Award recognizes and honors a member who has served NANETS in its efforts to educate healthcare providers and improve the outcomes of patients with neuroendocrine tumors.
The recipient of the Distinguished APP/AHP Award will accept the award at the 2023 Multidisciplinary NET Medical Symposium held in Montreal - Quebec on Wednesday-Friday, October 4-6, 2023. Travel, hotel accommodations for three days, and complimentary registration for the 2023 Symposium are included in the recipient's awards package. Full details will be provided to the recipient of the award.
Eligibility

NANETS member in good standing.

Role model with proven track record of dedication to his/her profession and professional ethics.

Important contributions to the NET field in areas such as patient care, mentoring, research, clinical guidelines, and/or NET-related education (for patients, caregivers and/or healthcare providers).

Evidence of commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to NET workforce.

Track record of service to NANETS.

Advanced Practitioner Providers and Allied Health Professionals include, but are not limited to, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Nutritionists, Genetic Counselors, Pharmacists and Dieticians.
Selection Process
Nominations will be reviewed by the Advanced Practitioner Provider/Allied Health Professional Special Interest Group. Awardees will be selected by the Award Committee based upon their recommendations.
Nomination procedure
The nominator should have personal or professional knowledge of the nominee's record of excellence. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
1. The nominator completes the Distinguished APP/AHP Award Nomination Form. This includes providing your CV, identifying your relationship with the nominee, and writing a letter of recommendation to support the nomination. The letter of recommendation from the nominator can be signed by more than one individual, and should address the following criteria:
a) Dedication to his/her profession
b) Track record of service to NANETS
c) Contributions to the field in form of NET-related education, patient care, mentoring or research
d) Dissemination of NET related knowledge in the form of meeting presentations, research papers, guidelines and/or adoption of NET-related care practices (e.g. PRRT clinic work flow, survivorship clinic, supportive care for carcinoid syndrome) by groups beyond home institution/group
e) Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
f) Viewed as a role model for others by maintaining high standards of excellence
2. Once the form is completed, staff will inform the nominee of the nomination and ask for his/her CV (with a note of service to NANETS and other contributions)
